On your marks, get set, recycle !
What if ecological transition was just a game ? At Signature, we love to have fun and enjoy ourselves, even with the most serious topics. Through the Ma Petite Planète organisation, we embarked on a three-week adventure that combined fun, awareness, and collaboration. Here’s the story!
The Genesis of a Disruptive Project
Once upon a time, at the end of summer 2023, a CSR committee gathered in a former abbey in Annecy. Their mission: certify their communications agency in the mid-term. The goal? To improve the company’s societal, economic, and environmental approach. Reflecting on communication jobs and imagining their future. But most importantly: to be recognised as super green in their works, events, and campaign recommendations. And why not inspire new personal habits among the S* Creatures.
First step : to know where we are going, we need to know where we come from. But where to start ?
Let the fun begin
Here comes Ma Petite Planète!
- ♻️ An eco-friendly challenge to experience with colleagues, friends, family, classmates… We chose to participate as colleagues and invited one of our clients, Mobilis, to join the adventure !
- ⏰ For 3 weeks, as it usually takes 21 days to establish new habits,
- ✅ a list of challenges to complete over varying periods (a one-shot, one week, 10 days, 3 weeks…),
- ⚡️ various action areas to explore (mobility, food, community…)
- a reward system ranging from 1 to 10 points for each completed challenge.
The goal? Make your league win by completing as many challenges as possible (but of course reflect and change your habits in the meantime ).
After 3 weeks, we picked up dozens (or rather hundreds) of cigarette butts near the agency, ate raw foods, consumed local and seasonal foods, carpooled with colleagues, made toothpaste, insect houses, bulk bags, relieved our clouds, stopped using the elevator, thought about the impact of our professions for more responsible communication… In short, we jumped headfirst into the adventure, full of wins, learnings, and losses.
We share the highlights of these 3 weeks in the video below
Keys to Success
#1 To have fun : That’s the core aim of a game.
#2 To not put too much pressure on yourself : Nobody’s perfect! No judgement on how others do it, whether better or worse. We leverage collective strength and aim high and far… to infinity and beyond!
#3 Know your strengths and weaknesses : Some challenges are not accessible to everyone (e.g., only travelling by bike). We therefore use the communicating vessels concept and focus our efforts on other more approachable challenges based on your lifestyle. Let’s be proactive and find new solutions.
The Outcome
After three weeks of challenges and an intense final lap, it’s time to review…
“Honestly, it was easier than I thought,” “Well, I still have a long way to go,” “I didn’t realise that by doing this, I was acting for the planet, and it’s so easy,” “It wasn’t really a challenge for me, it’s already a habit.”
An initiative that places the company and its actors at the heart of the ecological transition, capable, no matter the scale, of playing a key role in promoting environmentally friendly practices. All while strengthening corporate culture and team cohesion. Huge Thank You to Ma Petite Planète for this wonderful idea, and we’ll see you in the next stage: the digital collage on December 18th!
